Frequently Answered Questions

  • How is my player's age determined? All player ages are determined by whatever their age is on 4/30/18.
  • What are the options for 13-year-old players? Players who are 13 will be allowed to tryout for the 14/15 yr. old league. If they are drafted they will have 3 years of eligibility in the 14/15 yr. old league. If they do not get drafted they would then be allowed to try out for the ET 13-year-old team or join one of the intact teams.

  • How do tryouts work? The full tryout schedules will be emailed to all registered players & posted on our web site. A player must attend at least half of the available tryouts to be eligible to be drafted. Players who are playing on school teams should attend their school games/practices & then either come late or attend a tryout session on a different night. All players trying out must have their birth certificate verified. The birth certificate must be either an original or a certified raised seal copy, photocopies are not acceptable. These will be checked & returned immediately. Players who have played in an ET sponsored league are on file & do not need to be rechecked.

  • Does East Twins use a draft system? East Twins implements a draft each season for all new players and 13-year-old-only players from the previous season. The draft will be held following tryouts. All players who are selected will receive a phone call and rosters will be posted to the web site the following day.

  • Is there a Parents and Players Meeting and is it mandatory? There is a mandatory Parents and Players meeting the week following the week of tryouts. Usually, the meeting is held at Presentation Catholic Church, just up the hill from the East Twins field. All fees will be collected then. We will cover some league requirements and then break into team meetings. Players and parents should make every effort to attend!

  • How many games will each team play?  Each team plays a minimum of 20 games.
  • Are there any out of town tournaments?  Each manager will decide if an out of town tournament will be played.  However, we value the experience for our players to see other competition and so one trip out of town during the regular season is common. These regular-season events are within a day's drive.
  • How does my player get selected to the All-Star team?  All players on the Leauge Championship Team will automatically be selected on the All-Star Team.  The managers for each team will then choose the remaining players to fill out the team.
  • How much does it cost?  Costs are based on the age group of the player.
    • 13s - $350 participation fee
    • 14s/15s - $400 participation fee
    • All - $75 volunteer fee: once your family works two nights in the concession stand, your check will be returned to you
    • All - $75 fundraising fee: the requirement is to sell 5 raffle tickets ($15 apiece) to our “Parent’s Night Out” Fundraiser to recoup the fundraising fee.
  • What type of uniforms will my player receive? Each player at the 14/15 level will receive a team hat, t-shirt, pants, jacket, performance shirt, belt and socks that are theirs to keep. They will also be outfitted in a top-quality jersey that they will be required to return after the season. 13s players receive a hat, t-shirt, performance shirt, pants, jersey, belt & socks.

  • Do I have to volunteer?  We are an organization that is run by volunteers.  We ask that each player's family works in the concession stand or at other events to help make this a great experience for everyone.  There are lots of ways to help so if you have a special talent, please let us know.
  • What fundraising opportunities are there?  Fundraising will be discussed at the Player/Parent meeting. We have a fundraising vendor that provides items that your family can sell. This is money that your family keeps to cover the cost of the program if you desire.
  • What is Parents Night Out?  It's an opportunity to meet the other parents while raising money for East Twins.  Enjoy food and beverages along with chances to win fabulous prizes!
